Iran holding online film week for Indians

Iran’s Islamic Culture and Relations Organization is holding online film week for Indian movie fans.

Iran’s Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) has been holding an online film week for movie fans in India.

The five-day film week, opened on Thursday, is offering one of the selected films per day on YouTube.

The selected films are ‘Where Are My Shoes?’ by Kioumars Pourahmad, ‘Season of Narges’ by Negar Azarbayjani, ‘Bodyguard’ by Ebrahim Hatamikia, ‘Crazy Castle’ by Abolhassan Davoudi, and ‘Mazar-e Sharif’ by Hassan Barzideh.

‘Mazar-e Sharif’, starring Hossein Yari and Mahtab Keramati, narrates the story of the Taliban’s attack on the Iranian Consulate in Mazar-e Sharif, Afghanistan, in 1998 that resulted in the martyrdom of some Iranian diplomats.

‘Crazy Castle’ narrates the story of a group of young people who are members of an online community.

They plan to meet each other at an event in a cafe in Tehran. One girl’s urgent need brings six of them together. What starts as a prank continues to unfold into a complicated situation, which reveals new aspects of each character.

‘Bodyguard’ narrates the story of a middle-aged man who protects high-ranking political figures.

He gets into trouble when a suicide bomber wearing an explosive vest approaches the vice president. He then has to evaluate the values that he sacrifices for.

‘Season of Narges’ depicts a romantic narrative of ordinary people amid the chaotic and egoistic modern lifestyle, who have not lost the purity of their souls and minds, and who enjoy being human and loving others.

‘Where Are My Shoes?’ tells the story of Habib, an elderly man whose family leaves him alone due to his Alzheimer’s disease.

The film festival has been organized in line with agreements earlier signed between India and Iran.

Iranian and Indian culture ministers, during their previous meetings, have stressed the need for expanding cultural ties between the two countries.
